Our 5k and 10k courses both start and end at the iconic Rice-Eccles Stadium. Home of the Utah Utes and the site of the 2002 Winter Olympics opening ceremony. The courses weave through campus and into the foothills on a mix of trails and roads before finishing on the Utes field. Friends and family are encouraged to cheer on participants as they cross the finish line!
Included with your registration is accurate chip timing, a limited edition race t-shirt, finishers medal, and access to our post race expo! Live results will be available immediately upon finishing along with free swag, live music, and guest speakers.
The course will be chalk full of music, slip 'n slides, water guns and much more!
The Salt Lake Salute To Service is more than just a race. It is a unique community experience and opportunity to celebrate something bigger than ourselves. What are the packet pickup dates and locations?
Packet Pickup will be on Friday September 13th from 9:30-3 at the Naval Science Building on the U of U campus.
Are walkers and wheelchair/hand cycles permitted?
Unfortunately due to the trail sections of the course, walkers, wheelchairs, and hand cycles are not permitted.
What are the time limits to complete the 5k and 10k?
All participants must cross the finish line by 10:30am to gain entry into the stadium.
Do participants receive a finisher’s medal?
Yes, while supplies last. We will make every effort to ensure every participant gets a medal.
If a participant is unable to pick up their packet, can someone else pick it up for them?
Yes, they will need to bring a copy of the participant’s photo ID and an email or screen shot of the registration confirmation. Copies of both can be shown via mobile device or a print out is fine too.
Are strollers allowed on the course?
Unfortunately due to the trail sections of the course, strollers are not permitted.
Are there timing chips and race numbers?
All official entrants will receive a timing tag with your race bib number at packet pickup. The lightweight timing tag stays attached to the back of the race bib and does not get removed. The timing tag precisely records each runner’s clock time and chip time.
